I hadn't expected this, but he's running for it. Or possibly it was a ruse to draw me, but that hardly matters.

Rachel's gone--she went alone. I say, jolly well ironic, isn't it?

If you see this, come to Penzance, the shoreline near the stone. Bring extra wands, if you can do.

I said I wouldn't seek him out but he'll get away, if he's not bluffing. And Rachel--

Dash it all, Ron's on a detail and can't read his journal; Sirius can't Apparate, he'd be a sitting duck. Draco's on shift as well, by this time.

I've got to go. I can't--she's not a match in his current form. But together, perhaps.

Je t'aime bien, ma chérie. I'll see you again.

Hello,

Pansy was correct about there being a house in the north, what, but it was a ruse.

I did manage to dispatch one of Lana's Aurors, poor sod. I offered him the option to surrender but he chose to fight.

With your permission, I'm going to contact Baddock's father. Pansy seems to feel he has more the heart of a broker than a murderer. One hopes he'll weigh the relative merits of saving his family at the cost of his scab of a son, and be willing to make a deal.

Even if he doesn't, it might be bally well useful to strain relations between father and son, what.

I shall make no promises other than that his wife, Ptolemy's, and the young daughters will be unharmed and that Aristotle himself will be treated fairly. Pansy was hard-pressed to point to anything he'd done that was jolly well nearly as bad as most of the others, so I do think it's safe to assume that he would be unlikely to receive capital punishment or even life imprisonment if he agrees to submit to a tribunal.

Rachel,

I've crossed another off our list and if it's all right with you, I'll be coming home for a day or two.

I don't know if Draco's told you yet, but there's meant to be a festival of some sort next weekend. Perhaps we could organise a disturbance there?

At any rate, I'll be available to debrief tomorrow. Apologies but I'm far too bally well knackered at present to be of much coherence.

Draco,

I hear from Hydra that you're about to embark on an assignment under cover at the Elysian. I say, jolly good show, finding that chap and convincing him to go along with your plan.

I've been thinking about the job I'm to do here in New London, too. As you know, Rachel has me picking off the Death Eaters in not-entirely random order, what, but I've got to admit it's a more difficult business than I'd hoped. Not that one assumed it would be simple, of course, but this week it's been dashed near impossible to catch any of them letting their guards down enough to successfully target anyone, let alone the one I'm meant to catch. At this point I'd consider myself lucky if I could get a sniper spell off if ever he as much as sets foot outside the Elysian or Ouroboros Club doors, what.

It's far more likely that they've simply called for Floo and Apparating protocols whenever practicable. Though Rachel's contact hasn't (to my knowledge, anyway) given her any information about an order to stay off the streets, one has to assume that since Ron and I nabbed Dyson, they're being extra careful.

But once you're inside the Elysian, what, and you've established that they believe your impersonation, then do you think it might be possible to send me a Patronus or a button message or some sort of signal if and when you know that someone's going to be vulnerable? I asked Rachel and she said to talk to you about it, as it's not your primary goal but you'll have the best sense of what's possible or not.

I shouldn't want you to do anything that will compromise your own mission, naturally, and if you've got the opportunity to take care of any of them on your own--well, I say, don't stand on ceremony, old man! Take your shots, what. But it's my understanding that you don't want to squander your cover, either, by taking action that might bring you under direct suspicion. That's why it occurred to me that if you can pass along pertinent information or warnings, I might be able to act on them with no one the wiser.

Of course, I'll keep looking for opportunities that have nothing to do with the Elysian, what, but once you're embedded, why not press every advantage we can get?

Rachel,

On my way back. I thought I nearly had a perfect opportunity Saturday, what--it didn't pan out quite but it gave me enough hope to stay on another day or two (well, you surely got my Patronus). Unfortunately since then, he's been rather resistant to being caught. Dashed inconsiderate of the man.

I do think I've gathered enough useful intelligence that perhaps with a sufficient lure, I can take him under the right circumstances. We can talk when I return?

I say, after a shower. Trust me, you'll be grateful I've taken the time.

Rachel,

Ian Boyde is, as we speak, under guard at the safehouse in Hogsmeade.

We highly recommend you have Hydra present for any questioning, what. He tried at first to sound as if he was all in favour of coming with us and joining the Order. Turns out he thought we were schoolboys he could swindle.

I say, he'll eventually need his hand reattached.
