Hullo,

I got Jack's note. Yes, I'm all right. I suppose it's more difficult to be back at school than I anticipated.

And I keep seeing Fudge. Or--parts of him, what, when I least expect it. Among other things, one should say.

This news about Daphne is bally well worrisome. We keep talking about how something must be done about your mother but it's equally true something must be done about Crouch. I'd rather hurt her by bringing about his end than see her get hurt by him.

The question is how can one get to him? Have you any insight? You've been working with him and it must give you some ideas.

It would feel jolly well worthwhile to use my skills on behalf of the Order, for once.

Good morning,

I say, I thought you both might like to know that some of the older Hufflepuff girls were giving your sister Queenie some trouble this morning. I spoke rather sharply to them, I'm afraid, but felt it better to intervene before any of them did something she might regret.

I've also let Sue Bones and Ernie Macmillan know about it, as Prefects, in case anything of the kind happens again. I doubt there's any call for more action immediately, what. I simply felt you had an interest in the matter and ought to be informed.

Cordially,

Hullo, all,

It seemed prudent to have a place where we all might discuss the school's impending visit.

Ron, old man, Tosha wants to see the two of us this afternoon. I suspect he might want us to demonstrate the duelling salle, what, or perhaps our skills outside of the obstacle course.

Daphne, I take it he's asked you to make welcome remarks, as well?

Professor Sinistra, should you hear anything more about others or other preparations, I'm sure you'll let us all know. We don't want to appear too well-informed, what, but a little advance warning might bally well do our nerves quite a bit of good.

Has anyone else become involved in the programme?

Daphs,

I say, smashing job convincing the Swangrove twins to leave Tatterson alone. Sue and Ernie mentioned their suspicion that someone had been harassing her, but Sue hadn't been able to get the girl to admit there was anything amiss. I hope they were well contrite about it, what. More to the point, I bally well hope they've learned not to cross you again.

Listen, sorry to disturb, but I wonder if you've ever heard your sister Astoria indicate she might fancy any of the chaps in the year below ours? Archer or Cuthbert, or anyone? Smith thought she might have already gone out with a few Cuthbert but he wasn't certain.

Oh, by the way, have you been cleared for the duelling salle? I've discovered a jolly intriguing setting on one of the pells that makes training on them much more effective. I thought I might show the lot of the 'Juniors' who are cleared. I say, I'm well certain Professor Dolohov meant it to only be available to advanced duellists but I daresay you, Sally-Anne and Sue would benefit from it.

-Justin
alt_justin: (Tres amusant!)
Hullo,

Marks arrived here with the morning post. Have you got yours yet? Hydra, were your O.W.L.s what you expected?

Sally-Anne, I don't know if he did in yours as well, but Headmaster Dolohov included a well brief note in my letter, congratulating us on coming in first in the class. We've tied, it seems. Well done, you!

I say, I hope that Moon being Head Boy means that Professor Dolohov has appointed Daphne and not Patil as Head Girl. I, er, may have mentioned to him once or twice how happy I was last year to do Patil's and Finnigan's work for them, allowing them to focus on becoming Councilmembers. (Don't tell Daphne, though, what! If she is Head Girl, I don't wish her to think she wasn't chosen solely on her own merits--and for that matter, I've no way to know that I influenced him at all. And if she's not Head Girl.... Well, then my efforts made no difference, what.)

-Justin
alt_justin: (Pas de tout)
Daphne,

I'm so bally well sorry for what you're going through right now. I say, if there's anything I can do, please let me know.

I happened to see Sally-Anne yesterday. She mentioned you had loads of questions about some of the occurrences at school, which she was partly able to answer. I say, if you should want to talk, about the same things you and she talked about, we could continue to meet up and discuss them.

I don't know how much longer the journals will continue to be truly private, what, but there's Ron's and my flat, which is secure. There are other places where it's safe to talk, as well.

I shouldn't like you to think I've only approached you because of the connections between myself, Sally-Anne and others, however, or that it was only to ascertain your loyalties. The offer of friendship is jolly well sincere, and was so before these recent events, and will be so regardless of what happens when you've asked your questions. I quite enjoy your company and our conversation even when it's not about dashed serious considerations.

That said, it is true that there has been serious business going on all round us for many months and will continue to be rather a lot of well grim decisions ahead. I say, no one wanted to make you uncomfortable with information you'd rather not have, and no one was quite sure how to find out just how comfortable or not comfortable you might be with the involvement some of us have had in, shall we say, favourable outcomes in those incidents to which we were privy. But as it seems you've opened the door, what, then it's only decent to offer you the opportunity for proper answers, if you want to keep asking the questions. Sally-Anne's quite right that you've been on the fringes, if you follow me, for some time, and have proven sturdy and trustworthy all along.

It's bally well time you had something to show for your discretion, what.

Hullo,

Sally-Anne, I saw you wrote to Daphne. I take it there's been official word on Draco, then?

I say, how did she take the news? You know I had tea with her last Saturday, what. I believe I may be slowly making some progress toward determining what she does and doesn't wish to know.

At any rate, as I've a little time here at lunch (well, if I'm quite honest, I've practically nothing but time here in International Magical Co-operation, what, although--I say, I do have some interesting reports for the Order meeting but I'll get to that later), I thought I'd check. Once I've heard 'officially' I can offer my condolences.

-Justin
alt_justin: (Observir)
Daphne,

How are you? I saw the reward's gone up. Still no word, then. I'm dashed sorry, I know it must be well nerve-wracking.

I say, I wondered...have you any plans at the weekend? Care to get a coffee or a cup of tea? I've been thinking about our chat Monday and--well, I say, I thought you might like to continue it.

At any rate, you know Weasley and I have taken a flat together for the summer and we found a smashing cafe right round the corner near the Barbican Suites. Or if you've a favourite spot that would do just as well.

If you're not altogether busy with Lizzie's wedding plans, what.

-Finch-Fletchley
alt_justin: (Alors...)
Everyone,

Did you hear Professor Dolohov as we were leaving the lesson this morning? We've got to tell him our working groups for the year before Tuesday.

I think though, if we all simply join up in our usual sets, we might give him the confirmation he's been looking for, about the Ministry and such, what? Also, we may all be mates but we're not necessarily all interested in exactly the same sorts of projects.

Has anyone else thought about partners? We might want to strategise so no one's left with a team that's completely incompatible. On the other hand, there might be some--Brocklehurst, Corner, Greengrass and even Moon--who could easily join a team without driving the others round the twist, what.

-F-F
alt_justin: (Default)
We made it out. We're heading to the rally point.

I say, we're taking rather heavy fire but we've managed to evade them for the moment. I've sent the same message to Harry and Moon.

Has Zabini managed to rejoin the group or is he staying with Ron's?

-F-F
alt_justin: (joyeux)
Chaps,

I say, good show today! Well done with the maps, Moon, and thanks for assuming the risk of taking point for most of the afternoon.

I'm well surprised we made it through the whole course, what! Well, I say 'we' but the rest of you did, at any rate. That MLE bloke seemed to know just where I'd be. Harry, lucky we switched bags when we did. There were--what--fifteen, altogether?

Harry, I'll have a word with Macmillan, shall I, about all the Apparation horror stories? I think they're putting Greengrass off her game. Patil didn't seem bally well happy with him, either--particularly after Zabini's incident this morning, what!

-Justin
alt_justin: (j'en sais rien)
Enter and meet Ron and Daphne center.

('...and I'm Brotherton. Can you help?')
('Oh, I'm sure we can, somehow!')
'What are you doing here, in the castle?'
('We went through a portrait and somehow also through time!')
'Oh, really? Name's Rutherford, by the way. And this is Dashel (don't mind him, he's a bit of a wag) and the lovely young witch there is Clemmy.'
('...it like where you come from?')

SONG (dance after 2nd chorus)

'That's very interesting! To think that the world has changed so much from our lives now! Why, I bet that some of us are probably teaching at Hogwarts now! Say, what about Miss McGonagall? You know, she plays Quidditch for Gryffindor. I think she's quite the studious type.'
('Indeed! She's our Headmistress and she's ever so good at it. She taught Transfigurations for a while, as well.)

(Lizzie, Daphs and Ron have lines and then:
'You don't think so, do you?')
'No, not at all. Besides, Dolly's nothing compared to you! But it's so interesting to hear about the future!'

(Remy does his bit. Ron and I feed the lines as straight-men. 'Who?' 'What?' 'I don't know. How?' etc.)

('...tell us which way to the statue of Barnabas the Barmy? We're all turned round.')
'Oh, yes, of course. It's just two floors up, take the staircase when it moves to the left, go right through the next corridor and it's outside Professor Piedmont's office.'
('Who?')
'Professor Piedmont. Do you not have him for Defence?'
('No.')
'Oh, well, I suppose, with no more muggles to worry about, perhaps you don't need to take Defence at all! But it always pays to be prepared.'

SONG

('Anyway, we really have to be going on, now. Where's that turning?')
'It's probably easier if we show you....' (Exeunt.)
alt_justin: (infortuné)
Dux,

You've not left yet, have you? Without saying goodnight?

I came back from the loo and you'd gone from our table. Did your parents collect you?

I say, Daphne's certainly flirting with Zach, what?

Just as well; if she asked me for another dance I don't think I could do it. I'm bally well done in from the last few days.

I'm thinking of telling the Jugsons I'm ready to go. But not before finding you, what?

There's such a long queue for portkeys I think it might take us an age to retrieve the cloaks.
