Rachel,

Ian Boyde is, as we speak, under guard at the safehouse in Hogsmeade.

We highly recommend you have Hydra present for any questioning, what. He tried at first to sound as if he was all in favour of coming with us and joining the Order. Turns out he thought we were schoolboys he could swindle.

I say, he'll eventually need his hand reattached.

Ron, good news about George having woken up! I thought a bit of celebration might be in order. Draco, what do you say to joining us sometime this weekend? I think if Harry's along, we could risk leaving the castle, what.

I know it's only been a week but it does seem particularly stifling to be back at school again. You may find you're the lucky one, Draco, not having to suffer it.

Meet in the Hogsmeade safehouse?

Greengrass,

I say, thank you for your concern but there really was no cause for it. MLE were here to talk to those of us who visited the Ponds' shop for 'Tea Appreciation.' I'm sure Daphne could have told you, what. I think she may have only attended once but Harry, Ron, Pansy, Sally-Anne and some others used to go now and then on holidays, for a lark. At any rate, the questions were all perfectly routine, what, nothing to worry about. I was in and out in jolly well no time at all.

Regarding Hogsmeade: Yes, I did go to the village, for a short while. It was really only to get some supplies and return to the castle. I had no intention of inconveniencing you, certainly not. I'd no idea you had even tried to look for me there.

By the way, have you found someone to work with you on Defence or Noble Arts? The last time I mentioned it to Miss Perks, she said you hadn't approached her. I say, does that mean you're working with Moon? I do hope it's going better for you, whatever the solution you've chosen.

Cordially,

Ron, Sally-Anne, Harry, Draco - whomever else, really:

I say, we're popping in to Madam Puddifoot's for a hot toddy. Anyone who'd care to join us is welcome. It's well jolly when it's not decked out in hearts and lace and such. They're serving the toddies and hot rum punch and a buttered cider, if one prefers.

It's too bad Zonko's hasn't any of the Weasley products, what? I can think of several little things in their line that would make excellent stocking stuffers.

Nonetheless, the other shops here in Hogsmeade have certainly turned out for the holidays. Hydra was admiring the charmed icicles in the windows at Honeyduke's. The shopgirl said they're made of spun sugar. I think we might stop back in to get some for the tree in Hufflepuff's common room.

Gladrag's windows were also rather well done. All those charmed snowflakes.

Has everyone made good progress on Christmas shopping? I've been bally well pleased with the selection this year.

And did anyone else see the skating rink? It's just off the low road. I think some of the people who live there have charmed it for the day. I say, we might have a go after lunch.

Hullo, you two,

Just wanted to congratulate you both on what seems to be a rousing success! We saw the queue outside Zonko's. It seems as if every third- and fourth-year wants to have a go, what!

Smith's been telling most of the first-years about the time he tested Canary Creams. I say, it must have been before I came to stay in Hufflepuff, as I can't recall him ever testing products for you but then, Neville did mention your tendency to, er, leave them lying about at parties and such.

At any rate, he's been talking up the catalogs quite a bit since I shared the samples last week. I've no doubt that whatever tribulation it might have taken to reach this point, one can't argue with the results.

If you've time to get away, there are a few of us at the Three Broomsticks who'd like to celebrate with a butterbeer.

Hullo,

How has Jack been today? Settling down yet? Or still exploring every corner and crevice of Slytherin?

I spent almost half the day just relaxing. But of course, now it's after midnight and I'm not at all tired. Lessons tomorrow, however!

We ought to get him a bed and a dish and things. I think pets are supposed to have collars, as well, what? Hogsmeade, perhaps.

Today's been...better. Zach was flying nearly all day and Ernie went to the library quite early. The whole House is still quite shaken about Cedric, of course.

I hope you're asleep but if you're not...well. It was so splendid, being able to stay together last night.

What ho, Ron, thanks for the games night, what? It was jolly good fun.

So, on for duelling practice tomorrow, then?

I say, does anyone know how to request extra blankets? I was clever enough to pack jumpers but some of our lot have only got their school robes, what? It's been getting bally well cold at night up in our part of the tower.

Oh, and we've a Hogsmeade day this weekend, haven't we? I rather think I might need to catch up on the old books this week if we're to go down the village Saturday. Between duelling, History Club and all the other things, it's lucky there are a few revising groups or I think we should never get any real homework done, what?
