I Solemnly Swear That I Am Up To No Good

What ho, all,
I thought March was supposed to be a better month than February, what? But it seems everyone's well upset about something.
Hydra's upset because of something she saw and because Harry's upset that she saw it. Harry's upset (so I hear) because he's got to punish Hermione--I'm dreadfully sorry, Hermione. I expect you're well upset about being punished when you've done nothing wrong, and quite right, too. And Pansy, Hydra said she thinks you're upset because Draco's upset, what? So I'm upset because Hydra's upset, and because other friends of mine are upset, in the bargain.
If it's all the same, could one simply skip ahead to April? That ought to be better, oughtn't it?
Oh, but bother. April's when we're going on that bally old tour and one shall have to keep up a proper façade of being jolly well impressed with every monument they flash before us, what?
And it'll be one month closer to Oh, dash it. This place is simply mad.

Date: 2012-03-08 01:32 am (UTC)This has actually been a fairly calm year, all things considered.
You should've been here last year, with the Dementors and escaped prisoners. Or the year before that. That year was a bit of a broom ride too. Let's just say that Padma and I ended up duelling in the halls. And that was one of the tamer things that happened.

Date: 2012-03-08 01:40 am (UTC)Do you think we ought to start up duelling practise again? I remember we got pretty good at it last year, when we were worried that Mrs Professor Carrow would pull something in class.
Even though there was that one time I nearly died from growing blue scales.
Maybe it wouldn't be a good idea after all.

Date: 2012-03-08 01:44 am (UTC)Well, Hydra only thought you might be, what? She could tell you empathised with him, at any rate.
I'm not sure I ought to say what it was. She felt enough like betraying Harry's confidence just telling me, do you see.

What was it that Hydra saw, then, that set all the rest of it off?

Date: 2012-03-08 01:58 am (UTC)Sorry I'm being gloomy, what? Perhaps it's the rain coming in off the lake.
As for what upset Hydra, I don't think I had better say, as I said. She was concerned about betraying his confidence.
Oh, but I did mean to tell you all something well funny: Pascal saved a few of Fred and George's sweets, what. He slipped them to Delacour and some of the other older girls last night and quick as a wink, Delacour was sporting a gigantic elephant's trunk! She was not best pleased, I can tell you, what? For a moment we all thought she was going to go all veela on us--not the well gorgeous side, what, the er, the rather gruesome face. She looked about to hex Pascal into next week, what? And then Davies laughed at her so she pitched him, right there in front of the whole crowd.
Well, anyway, it was quite a laugh.
